My story

If you love the joy of giving as much as me then you’ve found the perfect place! Kia ora and welcome - I'm Naomi a mum/life-partner, daughter, sister, aunty, friend, business owner, volunteer, place-maker, strategist/policy analyst and more! Born and raised in Ruakaka, Northland, I live with husband John and our three energetic, young sons on Auckland's North Shore. I love being with my boys (often that involves sports fields or basketball courts!), morning walks, yoga, gardening, travel, piwakawaka (fantails), fresh flowers, good coffee, curling up with an amazing book, journal writing (of course!) and being close to the ocean.

a better, kinder New Zealand

As Thich Nhat Hanh's work asks of us:

“Did you ever have a dream when you were young? Were you able to realise it?”

My purpose with the Joy of Giving is to work in a way that has giving at its heart.  I love being involved with volunteer work and charities that make a difference to our community - and so our goal is to create a way to give back more, and contribute more to NZ children & young people in a compassionate, sustainable (and joyful!) way.

As I learnt more about NZ social enterprise and the inspirational people involved, I knew this was the motivation I needed to focus my energy on whole-hearted living and giving.

Thank you for sharing the joy of giving with me. Thank you for your support of our ambition for a better, kinder New Zealand. I am so grateful for the time you have spent here and I hope you will visit us again soon.

love towards us, love going out from us

Thank you

The Joy of Giving journey has been touched with so many connections and uplifted by the creativity and talents of some truly inspiring people – thank you for your time, passion and energy and the encouragement you’ve given me to help turn this deeply held desire for giving back more into reality.

Charity Partners and INSPIRATIONAL people from Shine, Big Buddy, The Kindness Institute, Just Because, Women’s Fund, I Got Your Backpack, Trees that Count.

I'm super excited to share my vision with a fantastic supply team of local NZ family businesses often run and led by women. Just like you, I love supporting local business wherever possible and the positive circles of impact that creates in our community.
